We have 3 node HCI, each node storage connected to port 8.

We wan to change to aggregate to port 8 and 9.

What the best way to do it?
also node 3 in maintenance mode(i thought this is the way but no., how to off the mainenance mode ya?

Thank You

hi, first of all, you need to exit maintenance mode on node three.
please tell us more on why the node three is stuck on maintenance mode (try reconnecting and restoring interfaces state to the latest working confguration).

After that, to switch storage interfaces to a new aggregate i suggest you to create a new aggregate interface (by picking two new eth unused interfaces) on same network of the actual storage interface first.

After that, on web ui node, go to nodes -> commuication interfaces -> Storage network interface and on a single node try to change the interface by picking the new aggregate interface that must be in the same network segment of the existing storage network.
Wait a while that hci recognize the change and if it's all ok, repeat the process on another node of your cluster.
Is this answer helpful?

Try on to change on 1 node only, but still show message
"Shut down all the VMs and virtual network devices running on the virtual storage and terminate all the iSCSI connections before changing storage area network settings"

I guess have to schedule maintenance windows 1st and inform user. thanks all

Hi,

Maintenance mode will be automatically disabled

HI
To aggregate your storage connections from port 8 to include both port 8 and port 9 in a 3-node Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) setup, follow these general steps:

Steps to Aggregate Ports
1.Verify Network Configuration:
Ensure that both ports 8 and 9 are configured correctly on your switches for aggregation (e.g., LACP or static link aggregation).
2.Backup Configuration:
Before making changes, back up your current configuration and settings in case you need to revert.
3.Remove Node from Maintenance Mode:
For Node 3, if it’s in maintenance mode, you typically need to either:
Access the management interface of your HCI solution and navigate to the node settings.
Disable maintenance mode directly from there. This can vary depending on the vendor’s interface.
Look for options like "Take Out of Maintenance" or "Resume Operations."
4.Modify Storage Configuration:
Once Node 3 is out of maintenance mode, go to the storage settings and:
Navigate to the section for storage aggregation.
Select the option to add port 9 to the existing configuration with port 8.
Apply the changes and ensure both ports are active and correctly configured.
5.Test the Configuration:
After making the changes, verify that the aggregation is functioning as expected. Check for any alerts or issues in the management interface.
6.Monitor Performance:
Monitor the performance and connectivity of the nodes to ensure that the aggregated links are operating properly.
How to Disable Maintenance Mode
Using Management Interface:
-Log in to your HCI management console.
-Navigate to the node management section.
-Select Node 3 and look for options related to maintenance mode.
-Disable it (often labeled "Exit Maintenance Mode" or similar).
Using Command Line:
-If your HCI solution supports CLI commands, you might be able to disable maintenance mode via command-line instructions specific to your system.
Final Notes
-Always consult your specific vendor's documentation, as the exact steps can vary based on the HCI solution you are using.
-Make sure to communicate any changes to your team and consider scheduling downtime if necessary, especially if you're working in a production environment.
If you need more specific guidance based on the vendor or configuration, let me know!

Hello Dear

To change the storage aggregate from port 8 to ports 8 and 9 in a 3-node HCI setup, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that your system and data are backed up before proceeding with any changes to prevent data loss.

2. Log in to the management interface of your HCI system.

3. Navigate to the networking settings section and locate the current storage setup where the nodes are connected to port 8.

4. Modify the network configuration to include port 9 in addition to port 8 for storage aggregation. This step may vary depending on the specific HCI platform you are using, but typically involves adding port 9 to the storage interface configuration.

5. Save the changes and apply the new network configuration. This process may involve restarting the storage services on the nodes to apply the new settings.

Regarding the maintenance mode on node 3, to disable maintenance mode, follow these steps:

1. Access the management interface of your HCI system and navigate to the node settings.

2. Locate the specific settings related to maintenance mode for node 3.

3. Disable maintenance mode for node 3 by toggling the setting to off or selecting the option to exit maintenance mode.

4. Save the changes and restart node 3 if required to apply the new settings and bring it back online for normal operation.

By following these steps, you can successfully change the storage aggregate to ports 8 and 9 and disable maintenance mode on node 3 in your 3-node HCI setup. Remember to verify the changes and ensure the system functions correctly after making these adjustments.
