VDI | Single Cluster with different privelleges

arjay Lv3Posted 15 Jun 2022 11:02

Is it possible to have different privilleges per group (Group A and Group B) so they can manage Virtual Desktops of each group separately?

for example the Group A Admin can only see and manage the Virtual desktops of Group A and the Group B Admin can only manage virtual desktops of Group B, even though they are in a single cluster?

This can be done using the "Resources" option. The resources are the resources that can be accessed by specified users.

No, currently VDI do not support this high level privilege control. We can indeed create several admins, but admins only can view/manage the same resources.

As an example, in VMP, you can create new Admin role with "Virtual machine manager ".

For this role permission, it is only manage VM.

Therefore, if two admins have the same permissions, they will be able to manage the same resources. We cannot set Admin-A manages VM Group A, while Admin-B manages VM group B.

Yes, possible to have different privilleges per group. It is also important that they can manage Virtual Desktops of each group separately so that we can ensure that there will be performing a maintenance. Failure to perform maintenance in that cluster results in 50% decrease in compute and IO resources and no further availability protection.

Yes, having different privileges per group can manage Virtual Desktops each group in a single cluster is possible
A one-stop desktop cloud solution can effectively improve deployment efficiency, simplify the workload of desktop operation and maintenance while ensuring information security.

Yes, it is possible to have different privileges per group. In fact this is the solution for the problem of "anauthorized access". Separation of privileges is another layer of security.

Yes possible, even privileges can be granted on per user basis in order to avoid security risks in the network.
