HI, how to prevent users from pausing the scheduled scan.

There is no setting to disable the Pause action during scheduled scanning in Endpoint Secure agent .

You can consider the two settings below to reduce user disturbance:

1. Schedule scanning during launch time or non-peak/office hours.

2. Mute notifications during scheduled scanning to prevent users from receiving any notifications. However, after selecting Mute notifications, endpoint users will not be notified via popup windows when security issues are detected, as shown in the following figure.

To prevent users from pausing scheduled scans on a system, consider the following approaches:

1. **User Permissions and Role Management**
   - **Limit Access**: Restrict permissions for users to modify or pause scans. Only grant such privileges to trusted administrators.

2. **Group Policy (Windows Environments)**
   - **Apply Policies**: Use Group Policy Objects (GPO) to enforce settings that prevent users from changing scan schedules or pausing scans.

3. **Application Configuration**
   - **Settings Adjustment**: In security software settings, look for options that restrict user interaction with scheduled tasks. Some applications allow configuration to disable user modifications.
4. **Monitoring and Alerts**
   - **Alert on Changes**: Implement monitoring solutions to alert administrators if a scan is paused. This allows for quick intervention if a user attempts to change the settings.

5. **User Training and Awareness**
   - **Educate Users**: Conduct training sessions to explain the importance of scheduled scans and the potential risks of pausing them.

6. **Audit Logging**
   - **Enable Audits**: Enable audit logging to track any changes made to scan schedules. Review logs regularly to identify unauthorized actions.

7. **Third-Party Management Tools**
   - **Use Management Solutions**: Employ endpoint management solutions that allow centralized control over scan settings, limiting user ability to pause or alter them.

Implementing a combination of these strategies can help ensure that scheduled scans are not interrupted by users.
