Uninstall Endpoint Secure on agentd

NazAnnex Lv1Posted 14 Nov 2023 13:07

Recently we POC Endpoint Secure for about a month. Once the POC's license expires, there are still a few machines with ES not being uninstalled yet. I am now unable to log into ES controller web page and require the password to uninstall on those machines. Is there any way?

HiHi,

To uninstall the Endpoint Security Protect agent on the PC, pls locate the file "uninst.exe" in the directory "C:\Program Files\SF\EDR\agent".
Then, enter the uninstall password obtained from the Sangfor Endpoint Secure admin.

If you've lost access to the ES controller web page after the license expired, it might restrict some functionalities. You might need to reach out to the vendor's support or refer to their documentation for alternative ways to uninstall ES from those machines without accessing the controller web page. Usually, vendors provide some method to uninstall their software even when the controller access is restricted.

You may want to uninstall it thru Control Panel then look for the related Sangfor program that you want to uninstall. In some cases, it would prompt you for a password so you need to enter the password provided by Sangfor Endpoint Secure admin.

You can read more on Sangfor Technologies Inc. or check for application updates here. The application is usually placed in the C:\program files\sangfor\edr\agent folder (same installation drive as Windows). You can remove Endpoint Secure Agent by clicking on the Start menu of Windows and pasting the command line C:\program files\sangfor\edr\agent\uninst.exe.

If you're unable to access the Endpoint Secure (ES) controller web page to uninstall it from the remaining machines due to the expired license, you might need to explore alternative removal methods. Typically, you could try using command-line options or leveraging administrative privileges to forcibly uninstall the software from those machines. Additionally, some security software vendors offer specific removal tools or scripts to clean up their products when traditional methods fail.

To remove the Endpoint Security Protect agent from the computer, please find the "uninst.exe" file within the "C:\Program Files\SF\EDR\agent" directory.
Next, provide the password you used to remove Sangfor Endpoint Secure, which you found online.
